Emptiness
The third body of work in a four part series, explores what Zen Buddhist call kū or emptiness. Not an emptiness of something missing, vacant or lack of presence, but the lack of independent existence and substantiality.
It is an exploration into the density of emptiness, the scales of magnitude that bind connections together which lay invisible to the naked eye. The drawings attempt to hold space for the unseen, the unfelt, and the ever presence of reality. A reality that is just beyond our intellectual comprehension, our touch, but not our reach.
